Quran App:
Make a sincere intention that you memorising the Quran or verses/chapters to seek the pleasure of Allah and to please him and attain great amount of good deeds because of the virtues mentioned in introduction. If a whisper comes to you from Satan to memorise or to please someone other than Allah, seek refuge with Allah from Satan , renew the intention, ignore the whispers and continue and In Sha Allah you will be helped for sure. At last why you started matters and the fight continues of renewing it overtime...
Before you begin memorising , make sure you are in a quiet room or area away from any distractions.
Keep a water bottle near to avoid getting up in the middle of your memorisation session.
Keep some dates along with you to take during small breaks if required.
If you understand the Quran , well and good.
If not, grab a English copy of the Quran and read the translation of that particular page/verse you are going to memorise.
It is recommended to read Tafsir of the page/verses and note them down, to gain benefits from the verses and to act upon them as the Salaf used to do.
Use the app to navigate through pages or verses , you can read the tafsir of any ayah , listen to the ayah from about 30+ famous Qaris , set the repetition frequency, control playback speed , take notes for each verse, bookmark verses into sections and do more.
Always stick to one Mushaf to make it easier for yourself to retain the verses and chapters. Note: Stick to reading/memorising from one source ; Physical Mushaf (Same Copy), or Quran App or Pictures in our sections or in-line scripts in our sections and follow along the instructions.
It is highly recommended to read the page/verses or chapter to a teacher who is well versed with Quran and get all mistakes corrected before you proceed. If you can't find one or require an alternative the second way is to listen to a Qari using the Quran app and ensure you are not making any mistakes and are comfortable in reading the page/chapter or verses. [You can record your recitation and use that to validate with Mushaf if everything is correct]
Read the page/verse you are going to memorise 30-40 times from the mentioned sources , Mushaf, Picture or in-line script or app, we will help you with each verse you will be memorising in each section.
While you repeat the verses , think about the meanings you learnt to truly feel it in your heart. Note: You may not be able to recall exact or all words from the learned translation but at least you should have an idea what the verse is talking about.
Instructions on what to repeat when to repeat are mentioned alongside each verse to help you with every single ayah and make it easier for you.
Number or frequency of repetitions will always differ from person to person and overtime as your mind gets used and trained. 30-40 times is recommended for all beginners and this can be changed overtime based on your observation how fast you can memorise.
Revise what you learn by reading it directly or in voluntary prayers. Once you ensure you have memorised it properly, you can now recite them in Fard prayers as well.
If nothing works out and you feel you are struggling and unable to memorise easily. Take a deep breath, renew your intention and know why you are doing it and Allah is with you as our Lord said in Surah Al-Ankabut Verse 69:
And also our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺsaid:
"The one who recites the Qur'an skillfully will be in the company of the noble and righteous messenger-angels and the one who reads the Qur'an, but stutters and finds it difficult, receives a double reward." So, Strive till your last breathe & Until you meet your lord, No Matter What !
Listen to the verse before even starting to memorise it , minimum 19 times using our recommended app. Comeback and now try to memorise the verse and you will notice a huge difference as you will recall words from memory by the grace of The Most High, Subahanahu Watala.
Listen to what you are going to memorise while walking, driving, riding, cycling , cooking etc and it will be very easier for you to memorise but this process is time consuming and you will end up memorising less than what you could do with the proposed method.
Dedicate a time-slot of about minimum 30 minutes to 2 Hours preferably after Fajr Salah or between Fajr Adhaan and Jama'ah whicever is easier and feasible. Stay consistent and don't compromise the time-slot for anything else.
