The Most Trialed People
The grandfather of Janāb Ḥusayn, our Nabī said, that the most people who undergo trials are the Anbiyāʾ (Prophets) — Janāb Yaḥyā, Janāb Zakarīyyah, and many other Anbiyāʾ were martyred, many were divided into two parts by a saw. Stones were thrown at the grandfather of Janāb Ḥusayn heavily, his teeth were attacked, Janāb Ḥusayn's grandfather says that the most trialed are Anbiyāʾ and then as righteous a person is, according to his righteousness he is trialed.
So Janāb Ḥusayn, his brother Janāb Ḥasan, and their father Janāb ʿAlī were trialed. These trials are a sign of them being much righteous and by these trials, Allāh tabārak wa taʿālā raises high the rank and place of such people.
Now the issue of Yazīd is left. So just as I previously mentioned that what Imām al-Dhahabī said? He said that neither do we talk evil about him nor do we love him. With Janāb Ḥusayn, we have love, and loving him is a part of our īmān, his love settles in our hearts and we settle it in our children's hearts too, but regarding Yazīd, neither do we love him nor do we curse him or say evil about him, rather we rest his case with his Rabb.
